Strike on drug trade in Bremen Neustadt

After several weeks of intensive investigations, Bremen Police achieved a significant strike against organized drug trafficking in the Neustadt district at the end of last week. Checks and searches in Neustadt

The decisive impulse came from targeted checks of two men aged 23 and 37. Officers found not insignificant quantities of heroin and crack. On that basis, several search warrants were executed in Bremen's Neustadt on Thursday. Operations concentrated on properties in Buntentor previously assessed as storage and transfer points.

Police emphasize that the measures were carefully prepared and backed by court orders. In addition to the searches, findings from surveillance and earlier checks fed into operational planning. The goal was to secure evidence and prevent attempts to flee or destroy material.

Arrest warrants against two main perpetrators

The two men aged 23 and 37 were arrested. At the request of the public prosecutor's office, a judge issued arrest warrants against them on Friday afternoon. They are regarded as central figures in the uncovered network and are alleged to have been responsible for supplying and steering parts of the street trade.

By remanding them in custody, police and prosecutors aim to prevent the suspects from influencing witnesses, destroying evidence or continuing the trade from detention. At the same time, further people from their circle are to be checked and possible accomplices identified. Police left open whether additional warrants will follow.

According to the current state of the investigation, the narcotics were taken from conspiratorial apartments to various sales locations in the district.
